Janet serves on the Board of Directors of the following organizations:

Jewish Film Institute is the premier curatorial voice for Jewish film and media internationally, and a leading arts organization in the Bay Area. It has introduced audiences to new voices, ground-breaking stories, and thought-provoking content, inspiring communities to expand their understanding of Jewish life through film, media, and dialogue.

Shalom Bayit is known nationally for its cutting-edge models of culturally-specific domestic violence prevention and response. Many of these model programs are now used in Jewish communities throughout the country. Shalom Bayit’s unique cultural approaches to violence prevention create profound change in community and individual responses to domestic violence.

Janet volunteers with the following organizations:

Writers Coach Connection sends teams of trained community volunteers into secondary school English classrooms to work one-on-one with students on their writing assignments. Its  goal is to help students think critically and to express their ideas clearly and confidently in writing.

Code for America brings technologists into government and supports new practices to change how government delivers services.

CORO trains ethical, diverse civic leaders nationwide. Coro leaders develop skills; master tools needed to engage and empower communities; gain experience in government, business, labor and not-for-profit community organizations; and participate in special community and political problem solving processes.
